Arctic Monkeys are an English rock band formed in Sheffield in 2002. The band consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Alex Turner, lead guitarist Jamie Cook, bassist Nick O'Malley, and drummer Matt Helders. Their debut album, "Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not," released in 2006, became the fastest-selling debut album in UK chart history. The band's sound has been described as indie rock, post-punk revival, and garage rock. They have released six studio albums, including notable releases such as "Favourite Worst Nightmare," "Humbug," and "AM." The band has won a number of awards throughout their career, including Brit Awards for Best British Group and Best British Album. They have also been nominated for several Grammy Awards. Arctic Monkeys are known for their distinctive sound and thought-provoking lyrics that often comment on social issues and youth culture.
